Welcome to the crew, by your location I guess you are not packing a lot of tools. If you go to the smaller wood suppliers that most towns have they will usually cut your wood down to size for you. Around here the first cut is free, and after that its 50 cents to a dollar per cut. So a 5x5 ft sheet of Baltic plywood only takes 8 cuts to make 25 pieces 12" square. Anyway hope you can spend time here and please ask questions if you have any.

Alan.

Ron B,
I would not buy wood from any of the box stores. the plywood tends to have voids in it. Try to find a local plywood distributor and get Baltic or Finish birch.

Exotic Hardwood Lumber and Woodworkers Supplies | WoodworkersSource.com Is a good source to get Baltic ply. I have used them 3 times and each time I got very good ply. Only if shipping wasn't so high, but that is with any on line buying. I would use them more often.
