Red face Searching for 1/4" x 10" Maple

I am the daughter of an 86 year old scroll sawer. We live in Oklahoma and are having problems finding supplies for my dad's hobby. He loves to work with 1/4" maple and we have not been able to find this anywhere in Oklahoma City, or surrounding areas. Does anyone know where I can get this for him at a "reasonable" price?

thanks,
Scrolldaughter

online ordering? Try Quality Lumber at Affordable Prices! Hardwood Lumber for all your woodworking needs!, Peterson's Custom Lumber , Sloan's Woodshop - " The Scroll Saw Store " . Exotic Hardwood Lumber and Woodworkers Supplies | WoodworkersSource.com is another great place to try as well, and theres always Woodfinder :: Find Sources for Hardwood Lumber, Exotic Wood, Veneer, Sawmill Services and Other Woods such as Tonewoods, Recycled Lumber& Salvaged Wood, Carving Stock and Turning Blanks. to check as well. Sorry, I dont know of any local places for you to try.

There's also HeritageWood.com . They specialize is scrollsaw blanks. I've been dealing with these guys for years. They're very personable and have great wood.

You should try deer56hunter on ebay. I have ordered a bunch of stuff from him and always been happy. His ebay store is called the lumber store. Also you can email him if you have a custom order and he will send you anything you want.

Oklahoma City has a Woodcraft store. They should have maple mostly in 4/4 lumber, but they also have thinner boards too which will be expensive - but local for you. Their prices should be the same as listed in the online store Woodworking tools, supplies, plans, projects, accessories, articles and more - Woodcraft.com

scrolldaughter, I wont to welcome you to the forum, I think it so great that you are trying help your dad in contenuing his craft. or art, what ever. you are in Oklahoma, where did Dad get his Maple before? I think Dale has given you lots of good sorces. if you can't find Maple in your area, do you tink Dad would try a differant wood? like some oak whitch is in your local stores. just to keep him busy till you get the maple you can get it in 1/4 " x waht ever they have. and see if that might be ok for now. welcome for sure, and good luck. your new friend Evie
