| Saludos and hello Hi - I'm Jim - an expat Brit living in Mexico the past 20 years.
I work as a freelance consultant ceramist/ceramic engineer, usually overseas, and between jobs I have a fair number of creative hobbies around the house including woodworking.
I bought a Delta scrollsaw a year or so back and have just gotten around to 'playing' with it to feel my way. I'm particularly interested in learning intarsia and segmentation techniques and joined the forum 'to pick the brains of them that knows' and hopefully contribute where I can when I have achieved some level of knowledge.
I guess that being a ceramist this can be looked on as a 'potted' intro ! - now time to lose myself in the forum messages
Cheers to all |

| Welcome Jim, this is a great site to learn from. feel free to ask questions. And as you live closer to a lot of exotic wood than most of us do and you travel as well you should be able to get quite an assortment of wood. So let me be the first to offer storage space for some of that wood. LOL.
There is no such thing as a stupid question anymore, I've asked them all! So dig in and enjoy the ride.

| Thanks for the greetings Thanks everybody for the friendly greetings - I really look forward to joining in with the forum. @lucky788scroller - good to see members with a sense of humour ! - an essential characteristic I reckon that often keeps me from tearing my hair out when tackling new projects and tripping over all the simple mistakes which I should have checked on beforehand.
Ok - back to the workshop to batlle on with my first segmentation project which is already teaching me that this scrollsawing lark is certainly no mugs game! |
