| Welcome Urich1,
Nothing to it to learn to use a scrollsaw. You just get on it and cut. Questions may come a little at a time as you come upon something different. This is the safest saw to use. Good for almost any age child to adult. Jeanette M. from Hoosier land |

| Welcome Urich!! John said it all. Great place to come for questions and inspiration! The folks here are very helpful. No question too small. Now, make some dust and posst the pictures, (we love that here). Scrolling can be very gratifying. It doesn't take long to produce a finished product. Do your homework before you buy your saw. Things you might want to consider are variable speed, and an easy pinless blade set-up. That is, a saw that will accept pinless blades and is easy to change the blades on.
Looking forward to seeing your, and your families work.
Again, Welcome!!

| Thank you all. I Know I will learn a lot of you all here. To answer a few of your questions. At this time I do not own a SS I’m looking at a Craftsman saw I do not want to spend a lot of money at first so if I don’t like the hobby I won’t be out a lot of money. I work 10wks on 5wks off so I fly a lot.
I also worked in Iraq for 3yr s and have 4 1/2 grandchildren Thank you all again

| URICH,
I'm late seeing your post, but welcome to the forum.Wow 9 kids and quite a commute to work. Maybe you will have some time to scroll saw while you are flying. HaHa. Let us know when you get your saw, and enjoy making some saw dust.
Hank
