Default KABA reporting for duty!

Good Day All,
This will be my first post. I want to thank all of you for the information that you've shared. It has already been of value to me and I look forward to learning much more.

I'll soon be 59 years old. Retirement is in the not too distant future. The idea of too much idle time frankly scares me. I've never been one for golf, fishing, boating, etc. I do enjoy gardening and crude woodworking. But I wanted a time-burner that was a little more sedate and wouldn't require a few thousand dollars in start-up cost. After viewing a few examples of scrolling on the Internet I decided to give this a try. Start-up cost for a reconditioned Dremel; an assortment of blades; and a two inch square has been less than $250. I built a work table from lumber I had on hand.

The creations that some of you have posted are absolutely beautiful and I have no hope of becoming that proficient. I would like very much to be able to make some acceptable pistol grips. I'd also like to make a few Christmas decorations and knick-knacks for my wife, kids, and grand-kids.

I look forward to learning from all of you.

I retired several years ago at the ripe old age of 51 due to cutbacks, i to was concerned with idle time, , , , didn't happen!! a company begged me to work part time as a analyst, then grand-kids, word working, yard, a couple years ago i figured the part time job was getting in the way so i quit, , , and i still do not have very much idle time, , and am enjoying every minute of it!~!

G'day KABA,
Welcome to Scrollers Anon
I retired at about 45 due to illness and haven't had a minute to worry about not having enough to do.

Have fun, and don't be to concerned about the firewood pile. It usually starts of bigger than the keep pile but they change sizes as time goes on
