Default Hi All

Hi

Just a few words to introduce myself. I hail from Durham, England and I've been lurking on this forum for far too long. I've been scrolling for quite a few years now, with a hand saw since 1985 and, after a stroke in 97, I moved into the world of mechanisation with a Hegner Multicut. I use a Diamond Fretsaw now which I think an excellent tool. Unfortunately, due to inconsistent health, I get to do far too little fretwork and am finding it hard to get much done but there is still an enthusiasm lurking in the background. I really appreciate the craft pieces I've been pointed towards from this forum and as I subscribe to a couple of American magazines, I get to see some excellent finished pieces too. I find there is nothing to compete with the odour of wood dust. Long Live the Scrollsaw!

I'm afraid I've never been one for taking photos. I stopped doing hand fretwork more than ten years ago. At the time I tended to do a lot of Victorian Silhouette patterns and the very occasional small segmentation. I used a very basic saw that I got from Hobbies in Dereham. It was a very basic piece of kit but you could do quite a bit with it. The experience was an almost instant one. Nowadays if I want to do something , the whole process of setting up is often a bit off-putting. Must be getting impatient!
