|  Janet . If you liked the Dewalt and have $200 - $300 to put towards a saw, why not open an account at Home Depot . They sell Dewalts . I purchased my Dewalt from them . I had a bit of a problem with it at first . I returned and exchanged it for another Dewalt . I made monthly payments .The few problems I had with it were easy fixes .. Just a suggestion . Might also check Kijiji , Craigs List and Buy and Sell .Cheers .Roger |

 | Craigslist is a good option like Roger mentioned.As for choosing between the dremel and the delta.Depending on model #'s, I most likely would go with the Dremel. The Delta line is being discontinued all together, so you bet parts will start becoming scarce for them as time goes by.I think the Dremel 1830 saw is a decent saw for the dollar. Dont compare it to the Dewalt you used for your class, instead, compare the saw you can afford to not having any saw at all. There are places online to both research info on the dremel, as well as find decent prices, and even a store locator for your area directly from the dremel Tool website( Dremel.com ) . And, most places will honor a price comp if you print out a price online and take it to their store.Happy shopping.

 | Welcome to the sawdust pile. I agree both with buying the most you can afford and buying from someplace with a return policy. The other thing you need to know is that you are going to break blades. You'll break more while you are learning, but I still occasionally break blades. One of the things to evaluate is the vibration of the saw. Enjoy scrolling!
