Default Just another newbie in Texas

Hi All,

I just wanted to say hello, and introduce myself. I live in Azle Texas and although I'm old hat at pen turning, I just bought a Excaliber EX21 and have been messing around with it for a couple of days...Great, now have yet another addiction.

For now, I'm strictly using scrap pine and some Baltic Birch Ply. Now all I have to do is get the people that make the patterns to make the straight lines curved and the curved lines straight, and I'll be right on the money.

Thanks for all of the great information, I will I'm sure be bothering all of you for information and suggestions, and I am looking forward to getting to know ya'll.

Mike,

Jump on in and ask. Every time I ask, I get so much wise advice from the talented people here. This is one good place to hang out if you are not on your saw.

Nice to have you on board, Mike. Great place for advice. We love to see your work. It's kinda cool to see progress with beginners as they get better. Feel free to show your turnings as well.

Thanks all for the warm welcome, I seem to be falling in love with scrolling. As far as pictures, I'll give it a try, but I seen to have problems with all of the size restrictions of downloading to forums. I have an 8 mp camera and even on the lowest setting, I have problems...any suggestions, I have finished my first piece and would love to get some feedback on it.

Do you have Irfanview softwear? It's a free download and you can resize photos with it. IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide

Thanks WD, I just downloaded it, now I have to get the learning curve behind me. What's the best size to download to the forum?
