Default Brand new scroll-sawer

Hello,
I became fascinated with scrollsawing when visiting the local wood store with my husband (he makes custom cues). I have never worked with wood before, but I love being creative and making things. I have a background in graphic design, as well as having tried all the usual female-type crafts. I just bought a scroll saw, and I am so excited about actually getting started making things. However, I am having a very hard time inserting the blade, and I'm getting frustrated. I bought a new 16-inch Craftsman, and took out the blade that came with it, but now can't get a pinless blade in! Please tell me that it's not unusual to have trouble with this at first, and that I will be able to get past this first step!
Thank you,
Ginny

Hi Ginny . Welcome . You'll be suprised how many ladies are in the group . As a male I'm blown away as to what wonderful work they do and their knowledge . I always thought woodworking was a male dominant craft . You'll soon find out how wrong I was . Do you have a manual with your saw ? It should give you an idea as to how to insert the blade .Sharp teeth down . Does you scroll saw have the pin and pinless capabilities . ? Unfortunatley I am not familiar with the newer craftsman saws . I have an older model that I learned on before getting a newer Dewalt . Another member with the same saw will eventually come along . You can go to where you introduced youself under new member and type in HELP . That should get someone's attention . Sorry I 'm not more help .Roger
