Default Hello Everyone

Just picked up a new Dewalt 788 after reading scrollsaw magazine for the first time.

Looking forward to this site and plenty of info. Ya'll helped me already on the type 2 thing. Now I gotta figure on a good supply of blades to get started with (have no clue)

Welcome to the group! I don't need to tell you how good the people here are, you have already gotten some good advice. You may want to buy an assortment of blades to see what each will do and how they work for you when cutting different thicknesses. The main thing is to make dust and have fun. One other thing......keep your first cutting, you can gauge you progress with it as time goes by.

Hi there Joe, I am so glad you joined us. as far as blades go. they all work. some just last longer, and are cheaper, than your lockal hardwar store. LOTS cheaper. one of the things, is. what size wood would you like to cut. like thickness of wood. , that is always a matter. and you can read back on the forum to see what others like the best. don't be shy. ask away. no quistion is stupid. we have all ask them, and are willing to help if we can. your new friend Evie

I have tons of scrap right now in the shop to try stuff with. Lots of 1/2 baltic Birch and 3/4" quilted and birdseye maple So thats what I have to play with now. I figured I would use the BB to cut my teeth on at first

Lookin to order an asst pack right now. Price seems cheep enough for the dutchman type. I'm used to paying over 100.00 for a table saw blade so this is a treat.

I have to agree with Dave, I gave my first project to my Mom, now when I go and see Dad, it is still in the living room, Mom has been gone for 8 years. I wish I could of given her a better one, but for Her and me there are only straight cuts, and alot of Love.
It is fun to look at your old work to see how much you have learned!
Take care
Pep
