Default New Members info kit .

Hi You all . I just finished reading some of the new members introducing themselves . Seems to me that the new members who are just getting their saw's out of the box are asking pretty much the same questions . Beginners books, pattern sources ,attaching methods ,wood sources , blade use and type ,etc . Along with I'm sure are a whole host of other questions that they haven't even thought of yet . I know the magazine puts up a few articles , but if you are not familiar with the magazine it isn't much help . Lots of books out there on how to start but you also have to know where to look . To sum up would it be possible to have an introductory down load for new members ? Would the magazine have an archival of most of the basic questions and put up a web kit .( lack of a better name ) . My wife summed it up . FAQ Then if there has to be some clarity they can ask .
What do you think ? Out to lunch ? Just an idea . Sort of a neighbourhood welcome wagon . I can see the editors rolling their eye's . Saying, as if we haven't enough to do . Cheers . Roger

I love the idea! Manpower is something else... Bob and I are pretty swamped right now trying to get together these special issues... We don't have a chance to breathe until August. But I'm printing this out and adding it to my idea folder so I don't forget.

Shannon . After I posted it I realized I had entered it in the wrong spot . I see you have read it and that you found some interest . I believe it would be a consuming task . Good project for a newbie staff member .
Cheers Roger
