Default The Line up....

....of new people!

My 2nd post. I just posted over in the (I forgot) section.

Anyway, I'm researching scroll saws. I will be doing outside cutting of hard wood at a thickness of 2 x 1/8" as my finial product. Raw material should never be more than 1/2", I think.

I'm going to be making scales for str8 razors. Approx 6" x 3/4" x 1/8", two of them, of course.

I'm looking at DeWalt 16" or, perhaps the Proxxan Micro. I'm thinking that Proxxan may be all I need.

Nice to be hear,

Steve

Go with the Dewalt.
Once you get the saw you will quickly realize how much fun it is to use and you will be doing lots of other projects with it.
The Proxan will be too limiting.

Just my opinion.

Go with the DeWalt...I just called Woodcraft for a friend of mine and they have the DeWalt saw, stand and light for $489.00. Much more bang for your buck than the Proxxon. Proxxon makes some nice little tools but they are mostly for the model/miniature builder and they are EXPENSIVE!!! Once you start scrolling there is no turning back so I would advise buying a saw you'll be happy with for a long, long time.

I picked up the Dewalt at Woodcraft's in Boise, yesterday.

I was very impressed with the store. I don't know if other Woodcraft's are this good, but this store has everything I'm going to need.

They even have scroll saw classes there!

My friend, Mike, went to Woodcraft in Parkersburg yesterday to buy the DeWalt. I gave him an old Delta I had for my first saw but after using my DeWalt to cut a Segmentation project he just had to have one.
