Default Hello from S. D.

Hey everbody,
Just getting started in scrolling again. Hope to find the time to actually finish a bunch of project. Have been collecting patters for years. Just got A DeWalt 788( type 1) I hear that there is also a type 2. What is the difference? I do have some vibration that i would like to reduce. First I'm going to make sure my bench is level and the saw mounted securely. Still trying different positions so not mounted yet.
I'm fortunate to have an understanding wife, not so fortunate in the job department. I'm a railroad locomotive engineer, no set work days or shifts so time is at a premium. Thanks in advance for all th help that I will need. It is great to meet fellow saw dusters.

Type 1 built in Canada, Type 2 built overseas And yes, the type 1 is the preferred one to have. You should be able to saw with a nickle standing on edge on the table if your saw is level. Vibration should be so little it wont knock the nickle over. Dale

Finally a break, seems that I usually get the lesser product in a deal like this. Got it bolted to a bench last night, so will have to see if I have a nickle left to try it out with. Dale thanks for the info. Dave

Trout,
Thanks for the welcome. I've got a 4 year old granson that is in love with trains (Thomas the train right now) I hope to find something along those lines for a Christmas present. Thanks again Dave

I'll do that Mike. Actually ordered some of your "Ultra Reverse" blades. should be getting them soon. My bet is the work at least as well as you claim. Looking forward to meeting you. thanks Dave
