Hi there,

I am new to the site, and scroll saws in general. I have a friend who had inherited a gently used Dremel 1671 from his dad, and since he wasn't interested in using it, he asked if I wanted take it off his hands (and out of his garage). I needed a hobby, and I think the artwork everyone here has done is really fantastic, so I thought I would give this a try. I also think this will be something I can share with my kids (12 & 8).

My daughter just finished a semester of wood shop and she is excited about it since she had a lot of fun making a key rack in class on a one.

I am sure I am going to be asking a ton of questions, since I kind of blindly jumped into this. I have already requested a couple of books from the library, and intend to read pretty much every post on this forum.

Thanks everyone.

Great to have you here! Ask as many questions as you wish!

I would suggest that you get one of the scroll saw workbooks to practice. Getting out and doing is one of the best ways to get started (especially with a scroll saw - so simple to get started).

First of all, welcome. You will find plenty of great info, and great friends in here. My name is Chris, and it's nice to meet you. What is your first name, if you don't mind me asking?

Chris

Welcome subervia, and Ramjet........this is a great place to hang out.
May I suggest your local library for some books on scrolling.
Looking forward to seeing some of your efforts.
