I joined a couple of months ago and have been lurking since that time. I love the work that is shown here and would love to do some of it my self. I will start by telling you that I have worked with wood most of my life in one form or another. Presently I do most of my work on a lathe and then use the scroll saw to embelish it. I make bowls with leaf patterns in the and then use the saw to cut out the spaces between the leafs. I then turn the bowls over to my wife who burns the leaf viens into the wood and then uses fall colors to stain the wood, I then take them to the finish room to put a high gloss finish on them.

I am also a demonstrator for Dremel and they have provided me with two different scroll saws so far. I have two additional scroll saws besides those, one is a older delta that I bought at a school auction and the other is a newer delta that my wife bought me for a present. I seem to aquire woodworking in multiples as I go along. I have three different lathes, drill presses. band saw and 4 routers. I think I need to have a garage sale so that I have some space for the next duplicate I will find at a good price. Anyone in the Denver area need a good deal on some used equipment. Has anyone owned or used the dremel scroll saw? If so can you tell me the good/bad points with them.

Welcome aboard. I use a Dremel 1680 and am quite satisfied with it. It can't really compare to the Dewalt, which I used to own, due to it's not being as smooth or as easy to change blades, as the Dewalt. However, I've been quite satisfied for the amount of scrolling I do these days. I do have to say, customer service for Dremel is top notch.

I started with a Dremel and really liked it, I just kind of out grew it and so it lives with my wifes father now.

Welcome. Great place here for anything related to the scrollsaw.
