Post New One from Ga

I am relatively new to scrollsawing but I love trying my hand at fretwork and segmentation. I have been at it for about a year. I retired medically two years ago and found this to be very theraputic. I look forward to hearing from others that love scrollsawing. Also if any one knows of a good place to buy wood close to Augusta Ga I would appreciate hearing from them.

welcome Jim. scrolling is therapeutic for me, too. i was diagnosed with melanoma( skin cancer) 16 months ago and have gone through quite a bit since then. one of the bummers was surgery that put me on the disabled list. but the dust makes me happy!!!!! oh, and the finnished pieces dont do bad for me, either. ya migh want to check out www.woodfinder.com for a wood source. also try a search on the web for lumber in your area( or wood).

Welcome Jim.

I'm glad you found our forum, and even more so that you find scrolling helpful to you (theraputic). As you've already heard, you're not alone there.

Being new to the craft can be very exciting, and there never seems to be enough time to cut all those wonderful patterns out there. You will find ample resources and talk on both fretwork and segmentation. (my favorites too)

I look forward to your contributions to our group and hearing about your adventures in scrolling.

Take care
Toni
