Smile TD Industrial 22 inch

Hi All,

Has anyone ever tried the TD Industrial 10021 22 inch Variable Speed Scroll Saw? I'm still looking around for a new saw to buy and came across this one. Just wondering if it is any good or not. My next choice is the Dewalt 778. Any suggestions?? I am new to scrolling but not to wood working.

Go with the DeWalt.

Why would you invest in a unknown brand, when so many unknown brands are all based on a very bad original design that has proven to be too prone to vibration? Harbor Freight, Grizzly, and a few others offer inexpensive saws that are difficult to use, and cause frustration in new users because of the faulty basic design.

If you later decide you don't like the hobby, a DeWalt will be eaiser to sell because of its band name.

The TD Industrial looks nice, but the table is only 9 inches wide and for larger pieces may not be so great. The table also only tilts 30 degrees. Now I don't know how often you will use that feature, but most saws tilt 45 degrees.
It looks a bit flimsy to me.

I am thinking Dewalt owes this forum a commission on all that have been convinced.
Enjoy your new saw. I bought one yesterday and it purrs like a kitten! Cuts pretty good too.
