Well, I've been lurking for a while, so I guess it's time to introduce myself. Hi, I'm Verna, and I'm a self-confessed wood hoarder and scroller.

I've been scrolling for a few years, and it is truly a hobby that I enjoy. I own 2 DeWalt 788's and 1 Delta SS350VS, plus a workshop full of other necessary tools. And, since I know every one LOVES pictures, here's a few:

Five baskets in the Monroe Dutcher style (Red Oak stained with Varathane Natural)

Birds on a Wire from Scroller (Cherry on Baltic Birch with a frame of Red Oak stained Varathan Mission Oak)

And, My Twins, as I call them!!!

And, this sure seems to be a nice place to visit. I think I'll be spending some time here.

Bruce:

My original DeWalt's motor quit at a very inopertune time, and I was forced to purchase the Delta. While the Delta is a good machine, I have problems with the blade changes. So, when I found a gently used 788, I bought it. Now, I still use the original 788 the most, but I do keep the one on the left at a 90* angle and I saw the other angles on my original one. I like to keep all of my digits, so I haven't tried to use both at the same time!!

And, thanks for the compliments, Bruce and my neighbor to the east of Indy, Bob.

Welcome. The first thing I noticed..... is that a shop, or a showroom??????? There sure isnt much dust on the floor!!!!!! I have a pair of old yellas set up much like yours are, complete with the overloaded powerstrip too!!! And, your baskets.... OUTSTANDING!!!! Dale
After looking at the baskets again, where is that pattern? I have at least 3 basketmaking pattern books, and I dont believe any have that basket in them.

Welcome Verna, I'm sure you know that this is a nice site to be in already since you've been lurking it for a while, those are great results for your projects, I hope I can make those too someday... and yes, that place doesn't look like a workshop, looks like an office with plenty stuff... put some sawdust to make it realistic. lol... welcome.

I'm sitting here chuckling that you guys think my workshop is clean I took the picture right after I brought the 2nd "new-to-me" 788 into the workshop last year, and of course, I had to clean out some space for it. You know, vacuum, put stuff where it belongs, put stuff on top of the table saw, on the work bench--you know the drill. Trust me, right now, I need to do a lot of vacuuming and straightening up to make the corner of the workshop look "clean" again.

The surge suppressor outlet really isn't over loaded since I haven't figured out a way to use both saws at the same time!!! There's 2 magnifying lamps and two 788's plugged into it normally, but I was also using an extra lamp that day.

The patterns are in 2 books titled "The New Scroll Saw Basket" Volume I and Volume II, by Monroe Dutcher.

Thanks for the compliments on the baskets. They're fun, and a challenge to make.
