Default The rookie

Hello everyone, my name is Dustin Schuler and I'm probably one of the younger members of the group here (I'm 26). Let me start by saying that you guys have created a fantastic resource guide here, thank you very much. I've just begun scrollsawing as a way to pass the time here while we are snowed in here in South Dakota. I've been lurking for a few days and found many answers to some basic questions.

I just completed my first project (the "Bless Our Home" sign available free at http://www.rbiwoodtools.com/freepatterns.html) on a new Dremel 1830. It turned out much better than I expected, although I'm sure my form and technique leaves some room for improvement. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow when I get back home and find my digital camera.

Anyway, thanks again for all the information already on the forums, and I look forward to learning much more about this hobby.

Hello Dustin...I'm 36 years old & I'm sure most other people here are older than me!

Stand by for "you're only as young/old as you feel" type comments from the older people on this forum!!

However old you are (or feel) scrollsawing is an absorbing past time...& you will be making dustin for schuler!

G'day Dustin,
Welcome to great group.

Seeing I-saw said it would happen, I'm not gonna say that you're only as young as you feel.

Welcome Dustin, it is always great to see the generations spanned by a common interest.
That is a great link you posted, everyone needs more patterns.
I cant wait to see your project photo, that looks like a fun pattern to do.
I hope you find the answers to many questions here and I am sure it wont be long before you are answering many yourself.

Welcome Dustin. Even if you are younger than many here, I can tell you with certainty that you are not the youngest. I have seven years on you by that score. Of course, that number doesn't really mean all that much.

As mentioned, this is a great collection of people who all share one common interest. Beyond that, the variety seems to be rather extensive. I will look forward to seeing some of what you make.

Welcome aboard Dustin, glad to see someone younger than me around here, these ole' coots are well seasoned and if you stick around long enough you'll glean some good knowledge from them.

Dustin
Welcome to the group, as said before this
is a great site, with great people who answer
questions and share their knowledge.

Rivari
As for "these ole' coots" we call them Dipper Ducks,
they dive in the water and eat fish
they have nothing to do with scrollling
