Default Hi all

Brand new to the forum. Long time scroller. Umm lets see just how long??? The band saw was the first tool I can remember my dad ever letting me use when I was a young lad. Many years later I guess I was about 17 years old when I bought my first scroll saw (a shiny new 16" Ryobi) to make a batch of X-mas presents for the family. That saw lasted me about eight years with very light use in the begining and heavy use twards the end of its life. Had a 18" Dremel for about four hours before I returned it and bought my trusty Dewalt 788, The 788 is still in use but has seen little use since I found a VERY LIGHTLY used Hawk 220VS on cragis list about three months ago. At first I did not care for the Hawk and was trying to find someone to trade me a Dewalt 788 straight up for it but with no luck kept using the Hawk and have now come to really enjoy it. I would never in a million years pay the new price for a Hawk but for the mear $200 I did pay I am happy. (Yeah that is a drive by gloat) Should I have put this in the bragging forum??

So long story short I have been scrolling off and on for about 13 years with the last three being the most intense. I like to do a lot of different types of wood working, including turning, small things (box's, cutting boards) and furniture.

Here are some of my works that I have saved to photobucket.

Sorry I dont consider photography or spelling one of my hobbies. So I appologize for the both of them being so bad.

Glad to have found this site and look forward to reading and posting more on in the future.

Take care,

Robert

By the way I wanted my name to be FireRob not FirerRob but it was a typo when I registered so if anyone has a tip on how to fix that let me know.

Just some more pic's of my past work. Not sure if its kosher to do this?? I am sure there is a reason they will only let you post four pictures per post so I dont want to get banned on my first day???

Welcome aboard Rob! Very, very nice work you do there! And quite a varity. The table with the Ft. Worth FD logo sure caught my eye! Is that where you can be found when not in front of your saw?

Welcome Rob, Can't wait to see more of your work as you go.
There are a number of people here who also do many different types of woodwork so you will fit right in. I liked all your stuff. The design of the pen was really nice.
