Default New to Scrolling

Hey there,
My name is Bob and I live near Dallas, TX. I just bought a scroll saw. (Ok replaced an OLD clunker that I didn't use much) I mostly do Woodturning and some flat work, but Scrolling interests me as well. I want to incorporate my scroll saw into making pen blanks for turning and Intarsia seems to call my name.
I have an OLD Dremel 2-speed saw I picked up a few years ago and really don't like it due to either SLOW or FAST sppeds. I wanted a VS saw and with some B-day $$ I picked up a Delta SS250 at my local Woodcraft. I may regret this purchase as there is an extreme amount of side to side movement of the blade. I have read the reviews on-line and other posts here about it and it may go back. I will wait and see what Dleta(Dewalt) says about this problem.
Either way, I look forward to learning more about scrolling.

Later,

Bob in Sachse

Hey Brother Texan. (Well, I'm an adopted Texan), but still a Texan.
Welcome to the message/information/idea/great friends Board. You have come to the right place for just about any kind of scroll saw work you want to do. Stop by soon, enjoy. But be cautioned, Scroll saws are additive.

Hello Bob, There are a few others on the site that do both turning and scroll sawing, so you should feel right at home. Welcome and look forward to seeing some of your work on the galleries.
