| Greetings from Van Buren, AR Hi all,
Just joined today, but have had a scroll saw since 1987. I started with a Craftsman - first shop tool way back then! Moved to a Dremel, and just got a DeWalt 788 yesterday, as I wanted to start scrolling again - is that thing ever smooth!!! I love woodturning, esp. miniature things, pens, etc.; general woodworking, some carving, and just generally making sawdust. When there is nothing else to do, I am either tinkering on my or my son's Jeep.
I am a pastor and have been here over 18 years, just near my "hometown" of Ft. Smith, AR. I built Wood Magazine's Scroll Saw bench (Oct. 1996 and featured in one of their best of this month), but at 64 pounds, I am a bit leery of the thing being too top heavy, so I mounted it on a Delta Tool Stand, which will be beefy enough. I tend to be a real "Tim Allen" in the shop, am on a first name basis with the "doc-in-the-box" clinic down the street, and end up getting CA glue all over myself, especially when turning. I keep a lot of acetone handy for such times. I do more reading than posting. Looks like I will learn a lot, thanks for allowing me to join.

| ![Cheeky Smiley 006[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/cheeky-smiley-006[1].gif) Hello twhditto! Welcome to the group. Your self description was really very good, I could picture someone going to the clinic...again...and again...and again. ha ha ha.
I'm looking forward to getting a Dewalt 788 myself, just waiting until all the Christmas shopping is finished.
Nice to hear from you, and God bless,

| Welcome aboard Twhditto,
Finally there is someone else from Arkansas. I was beginning to think
I was the only one that loves this art of work in this state.
You have joined a wonderful group, lots of helpful people and tips here.

Happy Thanksgiving, Donnab | Been in Wynn before. I went to college at ASU, way back in 79. I can not wait to get started back into it again. But the holidays say I must go to the inlaws about mid state - Rison for a few days. Oh, well, hopefully it will still be sitting in the shop when I return...
Happy Thanksgiving to all as well!!! |
