Thumbs up hello to all

My name is Richard Abbott. I live in Bedford Iowa. I use the nick name of thumbs due to the fact that I had both thumb joints replaced. The doctor told me to get a hobby that makes me use my hands. So I dug out an old Dremel that I hadn't used in years.Wasn't what I wanted so I bought a Ryobi 18". Caught the bug real bad and moved on to a Dewalt 788. Scrolling is no longer a hobby but a passion. Being retired I can spend a lot of time in my shop. This winter I hope to get a graphic tablet and take on the challenge of pattern making. Well enough about me for now. Talk with everyone later---Richard aka thumbs

Hey there Thumbs!
I have the bug too, just haven't been able to start a project b/c I'm still learning to stay on the lines ha ha ha! I also have blade clamp screws coming from Ohio from Ryobi b/c mine are missing and I've only been able to use pin blades...I am anxious to use my new blades to see what they all do!!!!
Well, anyways, welcome!

Welcome thumbs. I did the same thing when I first got into scrolling...i.e. got a "so-so saw" then within a short period moved up to the dewalt.

I think you find the graphics tablet a big help in the pattern making process.

Looking forward to seeing some of your work.
