Default Back to the 'craft' again!

Hi Folks,
Just coming onboard today. My wife Pam and I both did scrollsawing a few years back (had a pair of Dewalt 788's) but got out of it when we moved from Rochester, NY to Cincinnati, OH. Sold everything! Well not quite everything, I had kept an old Delta that we started out with and I it gave to my son up in Wisconsin along with a couple of paper boxes full of patterns and misc. tools. He kept it for a couple of years and didn't use it so I went back up and got it all back from him but it's been sitting in storage for 5 years now. We have a friend that turns pens and he asked us to go to a Woodcraft Store with him to pick up some materials for his hobby (he dabbled in scrollsawing but admits he didn't have the patience for the 'craft'). This was a pretty good size Woodcraft Store and they had the Dewalt 788 on display. Pam & I both 'fell in love again'! It's been probably 10-11 years since we scrolled but we're back. Pam (without a doubt my 'better half') gave away most of her work to friends and such. I sold some pieces at work and made enough to 'support my habit'. In retrospect, I can say it was therapy in a sense, after a trying day of working in a technical environment. No, I KNOW it was therapy! I had gotten back in the fast lane again relative to work in Cinci. and was consumed with my job but had to have a liver transplant back in August (Hep C) and have been off work recovering. Fixing to go back next week but with a different outlook. The time off allowed me to drop back down into 'granny gear' and smell the roses. Going with Lytle to the Woodcraft Store has certainly rekindled an old love. So Pam and I have begun gathering up the necessary tools and supplies to renew what we once loved so much to do.
Sorry for so much blather but I've been up all night, mostly catching up on work related email then surfing around looking for scrollsaw sites.
Be talking at ya!

Welcome Tom & Pam. Know what its like to have to change gears. Takes some getting used to but in the long run life just gets better. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Welcome to the forum Tom & Pat
Once it's in the blood you can never get rid of the urge to scroll, no matter how long you have been away it will all come flooding back and the therapy can begin.
Graham.
