Default first time here

Hey everyone,
Just decided to post my first message. I am an old scroller that has been out of it for a number of years but am getting back into it. About 7 years ago I got burglarized for about 35,000 in tools that included my saws and am just now getting back into a house where I can build my shop back. I have always used Delta'sin the past but am looking for info on what is the best saws out there today and why. Give this Texan a little help and some opinions please.

Hi Snigglefrig, Welcome to the family. I am using a Delta Q-3 40-650 myself. A lot of people are using the Dewalt 788. A lot depends on the money that you are willing to spend. For me a variable speed saw that takes plain end blades is a must. Steve

Thanks for the info. I have been looking at the Excaliber and the hegner and have been wondering if any of you out there are using them and what you think of them.

Either saw of those two would suit you well. Of those two, I would choose the Excaliber,Its a beauty. The other two to consider are the Dewalt 788, and the delta p-20 , both good saws.Paul S on here recently bought a Excal, and hopefully he will chime in. Dale
