Default Long Island NY show

We are going to have our annual woodworking show. The information and dates are
Long Island Woodworkers Club

I think we had a really great show last year with lots of amazing projects from our members on display.
Last year we were blessed with Carole doing a presentation on her bowl making. Unfortunately the building where we have the show is not very good for seminars. We really challenged Carole last year.

Well, despite the noise and commotion, we managed to have a good time and get some folks interested in making bowls. But it really was a great show last year, and this year's should be well worth attending for anyone in the area.

The show is only a few weeks away.

I'll be there on Saturday, from 10-3 at the Hegner booth. Be sure to drop by and say "hi".

My bride and I will drive in from NJ Saturday to check out the show and say hi.

We're both novices on the scrollsaw and I'm not so sure how much we'll get into scrollsawing, having been pulled deeply into the woodturning vortex.

However we do have a lovely little Hegner saw and will likely combine scrollsaw and turning techniques, particularly for jewelry.

So it will be interesting to see what's being done on Long Island... and have a nice little road trip.

Well I just got home from the show. I met Carole and she showed me another little teaser that will be in the New book she is working on. All I can say is we better get all of our current projects done and out of the way because the new book will really keep us busy. Carole was in with Hans from Hegner, as usual he always has some great tools and is a pleasure to deal with.
I also met Alan Z and his wife they picked up some tools and wood that they will use to make some stunning jewelry. I hope he posts some pictures.
I would have liked to have had more traffic at the show but we were busy and it seemed to me there was a lot more intrest in scrolling than there has been in the past.

Rolf,

Lauren and I had a very nice time at the show. The people were friendly, the work on exhibit was diverse and quite good.

We got to meet lots of people... and several came up to us, unsolicited, saying "you're going to love your new Sand Flee!", quite the icebreaker.

It was also a beautiful day for a walk around the grounds.

So thanks for the reminder of the show date, and thanks to your club for their hospitality and for organizing the event.

Overall it was a good show, as I stated above e would have liked a bigger turnout. Sometimes beautiful weather hurts more than helps. But it seemed like there was a lot of interest in scrolling. And I always enjoy talking to people about our hobby. I also met Shopdog another of our forum members that drove out from Brooklyn. I will get a full report about the show at our main meeting in December.
