Default Baltimore Woodworking Show

Well we went to the woodworking show today and I was pleasantly surprised. Last year it was just awful - not many vendors. But this year, it was full of vendors and people were actually buying! I even left some money behind. What I did notice was that there weren't any discount coupons or freebies given out. Excalibur was there, and after trying their saw, I must say I wasn't impressed. Talked to the guy at Hegner about my tension problem & blades popping. He advised I call them up, take my saw up there and show them what is happening and how I use it and they can fix it for me. Since it is only an hour away, I will probably do that. PSI wasn't there, which I was surprised and neither was Manny. He was a staple at every show I went to. The crowd was good but that's only because the Ravens play tomorrow at 1 and everyone went today. Hmmm, maybe I should go back, may be some deals. Talked to the guy from Ridgid and he demoed a oscillating sander that converts to a belt sander. Will probably buy that the Chantilly Show when they go there, unless Lowe's has it on sale cheaper!! It was only $199, so I'll have to shop around. It was also pretty quiet for a sander. All in all it was a good show & good day.

Darn...Sorry i missed that one. I'm getting cabin fever up here and needed something to get out of the house for a while...even if it's only a couple hours. I'm trying to feed my oldest son's interest in woodworking now that he's moved back to pa. (and brought the grandsons along). When they visited last fall I had made some birdhouse 'kits' for them to put together in the shop to get them interested too.
