I am brand new to scrolling and would love to attend a show to see what it is all about and to get some great ideas for supplies I will need and projects to work on. I am in the Syracuse NY area. Anyone know of any clubs in this area as well? Thanks for the info all! Wayne |

Hey Wayne, There has been the last couple years a show in Baldwinsville-Fulton area. There is a scrolling group there. I have not been able to attend yet but hope to one day. You might check out the SAW web site and they had listed the dates for this there. I'm in Indiana now but I have a brother in B'ville and dad in Liverpool and hope to work it into avisit just has not happened at the time I am going back home. Dan |

Hello Wayne, The Northeastern Woodworkers Assn. is having their 18th annual showcase in Saratoga Springs on March 28 & 29, 2009. A bit of a drive for you ( 2-plus hours?), but well worth the trip. Their web site is Northeastern Woodworkers Association While at the web site be sure to look around. Jack |

There is a local club with a scrolling group. Go to www.sawdustwoodchips.org . They meet monthly in B'ville and is a fairly large group. Barb Raymond is the president and she has been instrumental in the club's growth. It's quite a bunch with interesting and informative guests at most meetings. hope this helps, John

Hi all, it's Barb Raymond from the Sawdust & Woodchips Woodworking Assoc. Thanks Madwood for the kind words. Yep, we have an active woodworking group that covers all woodworkers in the Central NY area. We meet at the Canton Woods Senior Center. The full club meets on the 1st Thursday of each month starting at 6:30pm. The scrolling interest group meets on the 3rd Wednesday, same time, same place. Our meetings are open to all and visitors are always welcome. Due to the holiday, our January meeting is January 8th. Our speaker will be talking about protecting yourself in the shop from all of the hazards associated with woodworking. The scrolling meeting is on the 21st. Please send an email with your mailing address and I will send along a newsletter. The address is barbchas@twcny.rr.com. As for shows, the NWA show is really the only one around unless you travel to Springfield, MA, Toronto, or NJ. The website doesn't do the club justice - I am still working to fix that issue. Hope you can make it.
