Thanks a ton for the heads-up on this Pop! My schedule looks good, I'll have to check into accomodations as this sounds like a good one to attend.

Wish I lived closer to all these wood shows. Waiting to hear when the next Fox Chapel open house is. Saving up money for that one. Maybe accodomation will not be too expensive. If weather is nice I will sleep in my van.

If you if have never experienced Frank Klausz you have to go. He is one of the best presenters I have ever experienced. He has done a couple of presentations at our club.

Sounds like a great Expo! I went to the site to see where else it might be held - there is one in NOVI Michigan on Sept 21 - 23. A whole lot closer to me, but I think that's the weekend I am going to Chicago. Maybe another year....

Kevin - I had to go in the back door - go to the Fair site, then click on their little button to find the expo information, then there is another link to the woodworkers show.

Well, I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but we went there last year and it was the worst show we ever attended! Vendors were few & far between. The girl demoing the marquetry was too busy learning how to use the lathe and wasn't even at her booth. I did talk to the people from the local scroll saw club for quite a while & really enjoyed that. But all in all, most of the booths were people selling completed items.

BUT ON THE BRIGHT side. My husband wrote them an email and got a very nice reply. They are expecting a bigger & much better show than last year because of all the complaints (so it wasn't just us). She did advise that you check the individual companies site to see if they are actually going to be there. Some pull out at the last minute after their brochures are already printed up and there's nothing they can do about that. So if you are going to see a particular company, like Hegner, check their site before you go to make sure they are going to be there.

Thanks Betty.... It's always good to hear from someone who's been to certain show for a review. This will be my first too. I've been to a few computer and electronics shows in NY and Philly that didn't 'pan' out to be a good as advertised lately. Fuel prices may have had a lot to do with it too.
