G'day Carl,
Just looked at the Fair page, what a great show. The entry prices are very reasonable too.
Hope you have fun, and manage to get away from your saw so as to have a bit of look around.

Well three days at the fair, Met some old friends, ade some new friends.
Nice to meet Rodger from Saltspring. (Ramjet)
There were a few issues we overcame, like lack of power...man those new saws run quiet!
I think three pieces got broken.
But there are new scrollers out there and hopefully some will come join us here.

I was delighted to see a SSWC Tshirt at the fair, one of the old You should See What I saw.

The pictures are. Our booth, containing the Wooden Toymakers Society display. Rodger Ramjet, Cliff Daily, of Agassiz and his blue ribbon Segmentation project. adn finally some excited people putting together a puzzle made of nothing but elephant pieces.

My dear friend Roy Brown, without him I would never have started scrolling.
One of Roy's clocks, which always draws attention.
Roy cutting the hatband featured in one of our previous issues.
Roy explaining the basics of scrolling to two interested visitors.
Stack cutting a JGR Fine Line Cocker Spaniel on my new saw.
Oh I ran the saw with a nickle on its edge for most of the fair. I didnt have a stand, it was just resting on my workmate.

Carl
I love your shelf unit. Looks clean and easy to make. I need one and have been looking around. Might somewhat copy your idea.

Hi . As Carl said I did make it to the fair . When I arrived I found Carl and Roy in an out of the way corner without power to run their saws . It proved to be a bit of a bonus for me as I got to meet Carl ,and spend some time with him , until then only a face on the message board . He introduced me to Roy who showed me some of the pens he had made .
I had only intended to pop in say Hi and then travel on . Everytime I would think about leaving another question and discussion would start . In a way I was pretty lucky . I got to see the enthusiasm Carl and Roy have in promoting Scroll Sawing . I learned a lot just listening to him talking to people of all ages and assuring yougsters that they can indeed cut out projects . He is very generous with his gifts too , as many a child left with a small momento. He had lots of requests to cut out patterns with the scroll saw . I was amazed as I still need a drawn pattern to follow . My opinion of the Excaliber has changed . It runs quiet and as demonstrated with the nickel it seems to be vibration free . ( then he turned it on ) . Just kidding .
While I was standing there I witnessed one of those moments you only hear about . Another vendor was talking to Carl and asked if he would like to have something . .If it comes through it surely belongs in the bragging section . If not we'll never hear about it .
On the table were different patterns , projects and copies of the SSWW&C mag.
I certainly had a good time and it was a pleasure to meet Roy and Carl . I managed to leave with a few momentos myself thanks to their generosity .I hope to meet them both in person again one day . It was a delight . Thanks Guys .
Roger
