NW Scroll Saw Picnic Dear Wooden Teddy Bear Staff:
I had the privilege of going to a NW Scroll Saw Picnic in a park south of Eugene several years ago. I also went to a picnic at a place in eastern Portland. The first was a real picnic in a park and I enjoyed visiting with fellow enthusiasts and looking at their projects. It wasn't a large group but I enjoyed meeting others.
The last gathering was not a picnic but rather a gathering with picnic type food and was so commercial that it was overbearing to the amateur. There was a good number of participants in attendance so there must have been an interest.
Since the east coast people do not wish to grace us in the NW with their products why don't we in the NW go back to a real NW Scroll Saw Picnic in a park where we could meet and brag about our projects.
I would like to thank you, the Wooden Teddy Bear Staff, for your taking over the registration and logistics several years ago as volunteers were seemingly overwhealmed by the process. You folks kept this going for a year or so and I appreciated that even though I was unable to attend some due to work conflicts.
Anyone know of a park with a large shelter, good parking where we might meet? |
