| G'day Janette,
Congrats on a good show.
I reckon you're selling yourself short, saying your stuff was low end.
There was a lot of "interesting" stuff in your photos, but not much that really appealed to me. I guess I'm just a traditionalist Your intarsia would have won best in show if I was voting. That's not meant to be sucky, just the way I see it.
Sometimes I reckon I should just sell my business cards for a buck a piece, at least I'd be sure of covering costs LOL |

| Thanks John. Some of the stuff wasn't to my taste either but some was outstanding. I'm not sure how they get $2000 or $3000 for a table, but evidently they do or they wouldn't be there. Most of them don't really sell stuff at the show, but get commissions for custom work. Maybe in a few years I'll be getting those prices too! (I won't hold my breath waiting tho- I'd rather actually sell stuff than "display" it!)
The nice thing about this show was that nobody tried to haggle about prices. Everyone thought my work was either fairly priced or priced too low - guess that's the difference between a big city and the hicks! |

| Well, Janette, you are certainly no hick. I know you and have watched you progress and improve these past few years and your work is absolutely not low end. I am glad that you are getting the recognition you deserve. Not many of us can create and perform with the skill you have gained. Congratulations on being published, too.

| Thanks for sharing the pics Janette. Makes me miss making furniture even more. I think it's time to get back at it. I love the canoe. Any idea what they were getting for that one?

| Looks like that was a great show, Janette - there are some very nice and obviously unique pieces on display there. I like that eagle carved from burl especially and there are some interesting turned pieces and furniture. Your work, as always, looks great too.
Glad to hear you had a good time.

| Don...you're in Eugene! Have you been to a show to talk shop with me? We'll be in Florence at the Rhody fest next month and Art In the Vineyard in July. Hope you can stop by! Thanks for the encouragement too- it's always nice to have your work validated by other woodworkers-even moreso than customers since they know the work involved!
Kevin - if you could get a show that commands the kind of money for furniture this one was - go for it!!! I don't think the canoe was for sale. Friends of our neighbors were visiting them last summer and one fellow brought a canoe he'd hand made. It was absolutely incredible. There's a time when function meets art for sure! |

| Janette, you may be "low end" on price but you are definitely "high end" on quality! Your work is outstanding and you absolutely belonged in that show.
Betty

| Thanks for those pictures Janette. I will never make it to a show, and I am so grateful for those of you who post pictures. Very interesting for sure. Your stuff is just awesome, and that eagle on the burly wood just caught my eye too. Thanks again.

| Janette. Your intarsia is super; I will be looking closely at your patterns. Meanwhile, I'd like more info on your magnets. We have a gift shop in our local art gallery and the magnet idea sounds like a winner. Thanks
