Default This Weekend in CT

There's 2 major shows this weekend in Connecticut. Meet the Artists and Artisans is a top 100 show and is being held Saturday and Sunday (9/22 - 9/23) on the Milford Green. This is a very high-end show with 180 exhibitors and attendance of about 28,000. I'm planning on applying for her spring 2008 show though I don't think I'm quite up to this level yet. If you'd like to see some of the finest craftsman in the US though this is the show to visit. If you ever wondered what a $1000 jewelry box looks like, you will find it at this one.

The other show is The Seymour Pumpkin Festival which I'll be exhibiting at (space # 147, skeleton cove). This is a 1 day show on Sunday and more of a traditional craft fair. Attendance is about 30,000 and there will be 130 crafters exhibiting at this one. I was quite pleased to learn that the number of exhibitors was reduced this year (it was 175 in the past). Just take exit 22 off of Rte. 8 North or South and follow the crowds. Shuttle buses will bring you from the parking areas to the show.

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. - Thomas Jefferson
