Default from nightmare to

The story continues....with an amazing and humerous twist!

Many of you have read my thread "A scrollers worst nightmare" and know of the problems I have had with my original DeWalt 788 and that I was finally given a brand new saw to replace it.

Well, the big brown UPS truck stopped by a couple nights ago and left another brand new DeWalt 788 scrollsaw on my doorstep. I now have 2 brand new saws.

I must be honest here, I did think briefly about keeping them both and not saying a word. However, that is not the right thing to do so I called the Black and Decker Distribution Center that shipped it to me. The agent on the phone was extremely professional and helpful, but he could find no reference to this shipment in his system. He took down all my contact info and promsed to check into it and let me know what he discovers.

I did tell him I was more than happy to keep it if he could not find a paper trail.

So, after 3 months of waiting for a working saw, they begin to fall from the heavens like cats after a tornado!

I'll keep you posted as this new twist develops.

Nice. Sometimes I feel vengeful against some of these companies for the way I am treated. I like to be honest, but if they are not good to me, I'd never have said a word. I'd have pushed the box into the corner and left it there for at least 6 months or maybe a year then sold it. I'm in the middle of a very similar anger issue with a different company and different tool myself, but unfortunately it won't fair with them sending me back two. I just want my money back, so why is it taking so long???

That did make me chuckle. I don't blame you for being a little tempted. Talk about mixed emotions, huh? A person is usually better off doing the proper thing. Like they say, "what goes around, comes around". That is one mixed up outfit. I wonder how much longer they'll be in business.

Hey, wait a minute. I ordered that saw and have been looking for the truck every night. I'll send you my mailing address and you can just ship it to me!

Well........no new saws have showed up since my last post.but I've heard nothing either on the one I called in about soooooo........I guess the second new saw is mine to keep. I now have a back-up. One more and I'll be tied with lucky788!!!

DeWalt was a tad slow out of the gate but I am very impressed with their finish!

Barry I always need a spare anchor on the boat if you want to rid yourself of the second saw.

I think Barry better keep the extra as a spare, just in case.
