Default Found a source for blade holder tubes.

I picked up a bunch of plastic test tubes from American Science and Surplus that work great for blades. They're kind of a translucent milk jug color with a pull off top thats easy to work. The part number is #36094 and the weblink is http://www.sciplus.com/category.cfm?...=4&category=51
I printed the info of each blade type on a small Avery label and stuck it on the tube but it did'nt stick to well so I put one wrap of packaging tape over the label and tube till it overlapped a little and then cut it. Works great I think. I printed the description in black except for the blade size number I did in red to be easier to spot in the rack. I would post a pic but to be honest I don't know how so if someone could tell me I'd like to give it a shot.
I have no affiliation with AS&S, just wanted to pass on some info. I would suggest signing up for their paper catalog. It's easier to browse and some of their descriptions are hilarious but be careful it's kinda like going into a dollar store and expecting to only spend a dollar, Hee-Hee.

Nice price for 20 tubes - BUT - the shipping charge really seems out of line.

Always buy mine from LeeValley. They are very good and the shipping is better.

Are LV still selling them - they were selling them off in the Halifax store for $2 for 10 a few weeks ago in their "bargain"section - I wondered if it was because they were being discontinued?

I also bought my tubes from Lee Valley. If you can get your hands on the 2nd or 3rd issue of SSW, Pat Spielman had a very easy to make, handy little tube holder. It is a lazy susan with several layers, and holes for tubes. I've made 2 of these, one for myself, and one for a friend. I also use the tubes for holding my small drill bits. When labelling them I found the avery labels didn't stick that well so I just covered the label with a piece of clear tape.

Just got more as a Christmas gift from my daughter and I also just got the new catalog and they are still listed. Will be going there for a seminar on January 24th so will stock up on a few supplies that are needed.

I just got a few sheets of their 3mm finnish birch plywood by mail - I was going to go down there and get them till it was pointed out to me that $9.50 delivery was cheaper than the gas going to Halifax and back.

Actually I think what Sue meant was that it was cheaper than the gas and all the other "essentials" that I might have bought in LV - not to mention that there is a Chapters and a Home Depot in spitting distance - and the hardwood lumber place 2 miles up the road ...

I think the catalogues are going to be hidden from me soon ..lol
