Default My New Re-Saw Kit

Just got back from finishing a job overseas and Santa came early with a new re-saw kit for me. Took me two days to clean the cosmoline off, but finally ready to hook up power and fine tune. Picked saw up in Austin, Tx. on Tuesday and had a big chore unloading from trailer and getting in shop (all 764 lbs. of it) Wednesday morning. Almost ready to start making lumber for scrolling clocks. I have a lot of cherry, curley maple, black walnut, bass wood, cedar, and ipe to re-saw. The saw is 220v single phase, 4.8hp and will take a 1 1/2 inch blade. Re-saw capacity is 20 inch. Maybe this is overkill. I hope not, only time will tell.
I will let you know how it does as soon as I get it wired up and test run.

That is a Cadillac of a saw, congrats. and, regarding it being overkill, ..not a chance, bigger is better when it comes to bandsaws.Go make some thin lumber!!! Dale
once youve got it set up, can you measure the table height for me? It appears a bit lower then my jet 14 inch saw, and at a more user friendly height.

Hating you already.

Seriously, that looks like a fabulous piece of kit and I hope it meets your expectations. Let us know how you get on.

Default Table height

Lucky788scroller,

From the floor to the top of the table measures 34 3/4 inches on the MM20 and my 14 inch Delta bandsaw measures 45 inches from the floor to the top of the table.

That will definately serve you very well for resawing. I don't think there's a better saw around than the MM's. I'm jealous.

Yep, that's a heck of a saw and we can deffinitely see how proud you are with all the pictures you uploaded of it. You'll need a big saw for resawing Ipe, that's some mean lumber. I just have a 16" saw, but it's a laguna and will resaw at 13" which I think is the biggest resaw for a saw that size. I love the Laguna, and it has alot of power at 1 1/2 hp, but it isn't a standard size blade. It's 130", which I can never find and have to have special order.
Now go tell your wife you need some outfeed rollers for that monster.
