Eclipse Scroll Saw

Hi Scrollers - I'm thinking seriously about buying an Eclipse saw. Do any of you experienced scrollers own one ? Do you like it ? What problems or disadvantages does it have ?

I Own An Eclipse Scroll Saw. I Love It But It Takes Some Getting Use To, I Guess You Would Say It Has A Learning Curve. Smooth As Can Be, Uses More Of The Blade, And I Like The Light That Comes With It. Like Any Saw, Getting Use To The Blade Holders Takes Some Pratice. But They Work Well. Has A Tool For The Bottom Clamp. What Kind Of Saw Do You Have Now? Rain Man

Thanks so much for your replies. They are immensely helpful.

The saw that I'm replacing is a 10-15 year old Ryobi SC162VS. Although it has been very serviceable, blades are inconvenient to change, and there is a good bit of vibration. Now that I'm retired I have much more time to scroll, and would like to upgrade.
You mentioned that there is a learning curve associated with the Eclipse. Can you go into a little detail about the nature of the learning curve, and how the Eclipse learning curve is different from that of some other brands ?

I Think One Of The Main Differences Is The Using Of More Of The Blade Than Other Saws. You Also Place The Blade In On The Back Side Of The Blade Holders, That's A Little Different. To Sum Up My Thoughts On The Eclipse, Let Me Just Say I Dont Regret Owning One. I Had A Dewalt 788 And Loved It And It Took Me A While To Get Use To A New Saw. I Tried Other Saws Out , Top Brand Names Before I Bought This One And I Bought This One Without Ever Seeing It. Buy It , You Have So Many Days To Return It If You Dont Like It. But I Douth You Will Return It . Any Problems And Ernie Will Help You As Would I. Good Luck In Your Decision. Rain Man

Query for Eclipse users -

My eyesight isn't what it once was, so while sawing I have become accustomed to using a fluorescent lamp/magnifying glass positioned directly above the scroll saw head.
After viewing Mike's very helpful video review of the Eclipse saw on his website, I'm not sure that I would be able to adapt my magnifier for use with the Eclipse.

Do any of you Eclipse owners use a magnifier? If so, how do you keep the head from obstructing your view through th glass ?
