Hi all. what in the hick. do you do with that old wood. do you trow it away. or burn it. or save it for smaller projects.. I just can't throw anything away. what can I do with it. your friend Evie

Charlie. do you resaw? do you get to the end of the wood? then there is just the bark leaft. or one piece before the bark.? and what about the outersides of you cuttings. do you do something with that.? what do you do with the scrapts. do you save them for small pieces. or glue them, together.?
I have some pretty big pieces , after scrolling my pattern. and just hate to trow the leftovers in the fire box. do you save any of this for something in you mind. and if you do what would that be. ? I wish when my hubby cut something out of walnut, I could have a piece he trough out. But it went ito the fire wood. drats. that could make a ornement or something. or the bark, what do you do with that. ?. looks so pretty. isn't there something . just rambling. your friend Evie

My small pieces that are big enough to get anything useful to me are put in a rubbermaid tub and thats where I first look for pieces to use on things. The smaller pieces get tossed into a box and are used for the campfire when camping. It makes nice conversation around the fire, and as my daughter would agree, I say "every piece of wood tells a story" She gets sooo sick of me saying that and telling the story of that piece as its tossed into the fire. Its amazing, I can go through boxes and boxes of scraps, and I can tell you exactly what project it came from. I used to use a lot of my little scraps in the weber grill instead of charcoal, it just makes food taste better then charcoal I think. And yes, I was careful not to use any toxic woods or finishes in the wood I cooked with.The reason I no longer use them in the grill................My wife threw away our grill because of a bent leg on it!!!!! Isnt that awful!!!!!!!!! Dale

I use whatever I have and if I do have any left ill save it for another project, like that eagle ,some of it was done with scrap pieces of pine I had laying around . If I can use it why not lol right now ive got a pile of scrap that im sure ill use eventually , works great for the small pieces even if I dont know what im going to use it for , its always good to have a little extra :-)

ya never know what ya might need it for :-)

the only thin I dont save is the really junk scraps that cant really be used for anything anyways .

Yup, it was perfectly good still, all I had to do was put a small hunk of 4X4 under the one side and she was as good as new!!! I was so mad when I realized it was gone!
