Default What Saw's do I Own

Price was certainly a consideration for me when I first started scrolling. I wasn't going to spend a lot of money for a hobby I might not like.Silly me. My wife bought me a delta ss350 great saw great price EASY BLADE changes.
I out grew it fairly quickley and bought an RBI G4. Really great saw. And eventually I will get a used Hegner for club meetings.(the Delta is Heavy and the RBI heavier). I think the people designing the low end saws need to talk to real scrollers, the blade changing on some of the new saws is next to impossible especially the bottom clamp. I worry that people who buy some of these saws will get frustrated and give up this wonderful hobby. It can't cost that much more to manufacture a saw with accesible clamps.
Unfortunately there is no way to try these saws unless you have access to a local club. Although if I had the chance to try different saws I would have immediately wanted a Hegner or an RBI and been dissatisfied with anything less. I have never seen an Excalibur.
My opinion only.

I just use the saws at the office; I haven't bought one of my own yet. We've got a Hawk, a Hegner, a proxxon, and Shop Smith just sent me a saw to review, so...i haven't needed to invest yet!

Shannon Flowers has a DeWalt...

Have been using a DeWalt 788 for the past 8 years still going strong with no problems.

I have a older Craftsman Contractors series 20" variable speed scroll saw with the stand. Model no. 113.236400. It works well for me.

Default Saw choice

I voted for the only saw I currently own which is a Ryobi. One day while wandering through the local building center looking for a new hobby, I found a scoll saw staring at me from behind a "sale" sign . Been addicted ever since. I am still new so I will keep practicing for a bit. Some day I will upgrade though.
