is there a blade out there designed to cut with the grain? i'm currently using a FD-SR #7 and unless i use a brand new blade, the wood is laughing at me. i'm cutting 3/4" oak. what i have been doing for the cuts with the grain is using a new blade every 5-10 minutes of cutting. i'm saving those blades for later use when i'm cutting across the grain. |

Because oak is heavy grained it can at times be very tough. Use a skip toothed blade at least a #7 if no detail use a #9 Also the precision ground or in Mike's case the FD Polar blades work well.
