I have a DeWalt 288. The manual doesn’t really tell a lot about maintenance of the saw. Can any of you 288 owners tell me what and how to do routine maintenance on it so that I can keep it working in top condition for a long time? Bigfoot |

Just bought a used DW788 that's in good condition. Found and downloaded the manual. Have also done several searches on the net looking for maintenance, specifically on oiling the saw. So far haven't found anything. Any help, links, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Miniwoodworker |

I took my Dewalt 788 in to be repaired and asked the repair man about maintenance - He said, no oiling was needed use an air compressor and blow the sawdust out of the parts once in awhile. Turned out my saw didn't need to be repaired - I was using the blade under too much tension. T |

Thanks for the reply. That's what I was hoping to hear after not being able to find anything about oiling it, nor could I find anything on the saw that appeared to be oil ports. Thanks, too for the tip on blowing out sawdust. I noticed some caked on sawdust when I bought it. Used an old paintbrush to "sweep" it, but I'll hit it with the air for a more thorough cleaning.
