Does anyone know where to obtain a Dewalt 788 scroll saw with a 240 volt 50Hz motor for use in New Zealand?

Contact DeWalt. They might have help for you. I don't think you will find one in the US, Mike M

Thanks Mike but I have tried all of the Dewalt websites in New Zealand, Australia, Britain, and other continental countries that use 220 volt power and had no luck at all. They apparantly have a minimum order thus cannot order one only. I may just have to go to a Delta which is a shame. Rhys H. |

Looking at the SAW website, I saw that there is a scrollsaw club listed in Australia. The contact name is Nick Schulz schulznj@picknow1.com.au Try giving him a shout via email, perhaps he knows about resources in the region.

I believe Neil Schultz is the president of that club. Neil Schultz schulznj@picknowl.com.au Australia There is not much difference in the emal. It might be father and son. Can you use any other motor? Mike M

I hope I'm not too late with this info, but I've been told that the power system in New Zealand is the same as that in the UK. All you would need to do would be to change the plug, because New Zealand electrical outlets use plugs that are a different shape to the flat pins used in the UK. It means that if you buy a power tool from the UK, it'll work in NZ. Unfortunately, I don't believe the DeWalt 788 is available in the UK. Gill |

Thanks for all of the above comments. I gave up on the Dewalt and finally bought a Hegner from Australia. Just love it!! Rhys H. |
