For Sandy re removing cypress knee bark. Boil knees in water and vinegar two hours. Bark strips off easily. Dry knees in microwave at 30 second on high, rest and cool, repeat sequence. Carving off bark damages the natural contours of the wood. |

I just recieved my new issue of Wood Carveing Illustrated Mag.and saw in theTips section where Sandy wanted to know how to get the bark off of cypress knees.I was raised down in the south part of Louisiana and we boiled the knees then the bark would peel off real smooth.Hope this will help A.D.Peveto |
