Default Oscillating Sander advice

Considering this sander and looking for any advice or experience. My main initial use would be for sanding inside curves like in Carole's bowls (straight sides).

Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander-EB4424 at The Home Depot

Harbor Freight has a cheaper sander, but it does not appear to tilt.

Any input?

Thanks

Steve after spending over twice that much on a Jet oscillating sander and being disappiontd in it I would say go with this one. Every time I use the Jet I regret not sending it back!! I know Mike (wooden-n-things) has one and highly recommends it.

I've got this one & it's pretty good. The table will true up for a good 90-degree angle. The capability of using the round sanding drums or the belt device is great! I use this thing a lot when I'm truing up segments for my segments bowls.

I do have this one and have had for quite some time. After my random orbital it is my go to sander. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I've had mine for about 10 years. It's an excellent tool. Make sure to also get a crepe sandpaper cleaner, as the paper does clog quickly. I've heard some people complain that the motor bogs down, but I can't imagine how much pressure they must be putting on the work to have that happen.

I have my Rigid for 3 years and love it, not a single problem with it in all the time I have owned it. I recommend it highly.

Thanks, probably off to HD later. Now if the summer heat would just leave I could use some of these tools!

That sander is a real gem. I've had mine for probably about 5 years and like it a lot. Not a production tool, but perfect for hobbiest use and very versatile.

Steve, I have the same unit and really like using it. I found out I would have rather had a complete table that would tilt instead of just the front of the table when sanding the inside of the bowls. I did purchase the Jet as well and use it allot when making the bowls, but I still use the Rigid for other projects.... I think it's a great machine for the cost. Paid nearly twice that much for the Jet, but it's a great sander as well. But, I wish I would have spent the money for a thickness sander and just stayed with the Rigid.
