Went to turn on my hitachi the other day and nothing happened. After trying everything i could think of i checked the motor by straight wiring it.It worked so it seems i have a bad circuit board which costs over half what my saw cost. Not sure yet what i'm going to do.

D.W. is absolutely right. I eliminated the on/off switch, and use a foot pedal from Harbor Freight. There is also a foot switch on Amazon.com for a few bucks more. I have been using HF pedal for about 4 years of almost daily use. Paul |

If you have a compressor you can attempt to blow the switch out. Many of the cheap (quality and design) switches are subject to failure due to the build up of fine saw dust.

I also had the same problem with my Hitachi, I put new switches in and it would work for a while then same problem. I eventually went and put one of the old switches in and press prongs and connector hickeys towards each other and the switch would work again. It became a pain for me and I don't know anything really about wiring so I just found a way better saw and put the Hitachi in the corner as a "just in case" Good luck.
