I have a DeWalt 788, had it for a few months. Lately when I put a new saw blade in it faces to the right. I have held it to the left when tightening and then I some teeth in the front and some on the right. You can feel them with your finger, you feel nothing on the left side, smooth. What causes this? Anyone know? I am using the german blades from Mike, like usual. help!

JoAnne, is it possible that you just didn't notice this before? Most blades have a burr on the right side which is a side effect of the manufacturing process, that is why your saw cuts at a slight angle. I love Mikes blades, but if that burr annoys you endlessly, Olson have the PGT (precision ground teeth) that have no burr, but I still like Mikes' blades better. Which of Mikes' blades are you using? Have you tried alternate blade types from Mike to make sure you didn't get a bad batch? -------Randy

The UR blades got as much strait as the PGT blades it does not have the bur like most other blades. If the blade cuts to the right, move the wood some degree to the right, makes it much easier to stay on the line. The UR blades have a much different tooth design as any other blade. FD Mike

Prior to installing a blade, FD of course, I pull the right side across a piece of metal a few times, usually the edge of the saw table. This knocks the burrs off and I seldom have trouble with blades drifting to the right. Hope this helps. Jack |

I am going to try the suggestions all of you gave me. I have tried using FD-UR #3 and #5, it isn't as bad with these. I just started using the FD-PS #7 and that is the one giving me the trouble. I will try knocking the burrs off and see what happens. Thanks!
