Recently bought a book, 'Carving the Little Guys,' (got mine at LIttleShavers) and am absolutly hooked. All you need is a piece about 1 x 1 x 2 and a knife.

My 5 year old Granddaughter, came in the other day and said Papa, Is this carving I did prettiful?. Dang if it wasn't. ![]() Guess i have a little carver in the family. Safety, the enjoyment. Kenny S

Grand kids are pretty prettiful if you ask me. Wouldn't know about great grand kids. Hope we're around long enough to find out.

I have a friend that takes pieces of scrap wood, various shapes and sizes, & makes bodies & stems for morel mushrooms. He then carves faces in the body.

I've got a big cardboard box sitting on the floor beside my bandsaw where I toss all of the cut-offs when I'm cutting blanks. I'll have to pick up that book so I can start using some of it. It would be a shame to throw it in the fire. There's little guys in there waiting to be carved out :
