Default Bandsaw fence recommendations???

Well I made it through the holiday rush using just a homemade fence for resawing but am looking at purchasing either the Kreg fence or the Carter Magfence. Has anyone used either of these? Any comments, benefits, things you like, dislike about either of these or are you aware of other options?

Thanks.

I think I'd lean toward the kreg, myself. Even if it is more expensive. I have the grizzly 14" bandsaw and like their fence. Only problem is I can't re-saw really thin with it as it hits the blade guides.

I have not used either the Kreg nor the Carter. I use the OEM fence that came with my Powermatic 14", which is supposed to be a good fence for an OEM one. I am real close to ordering the Magfence though.

My bandsaw is almost new and I am not happy with the supplied fence. It will not sit vertically square to the table without brass shim stock between the extruded arm and the cast head. Two of the plastic bearing pieces on the bottom of the head have fallen off. one of them twice.

I have read extensively about both the Kreg and the Carter. Almost everyone publicly states they like the simplicity and ease of use of the Carter. I wish I could try out both of them before I buy.

Thanks guys. I have been trying to read everything I can and have watched the few youtube videos I could find. Nothing I've read or seen so far has sold me on either one yet. I'm with you Bob on wishing I could try both of them out first.

Well I watched a demo at a woodworking show and was quite impressed with the mag fence by Carter, a year later I was able to get one. Haven't been sorry.
