Default motor revs

I am new to scrollsawing. I purchased my first scroll saw a couple of years ago but didn't really use it until I retired. The last few days I started to scroll. Now I have a problem with my Trademaster scroll saw.I turn the saw on ,start to scroll, then all by it's self, the motor revs up and then it shuts off. Motor revs, saw quits, motor revs, saw quits. Can anybody tell me what's wrong.

Rose:

Sounds like a power problem.

I suggest that you find an electric motor repair outlet and ask them what your problem and solution might be.

Being a questioning guy, I would ask the same question of a second outlet to see if I am getting the same answer and then proceed with the best solution on offer.

If you have an electrical instruction program [educational] nearby, you could ask them. If they do not sell service, you might get a more dependable answer from them.

Your best solution may be replacement of the whole saw.

Good luck.

Rose if it is a variable speed I most certainly suspect the controller circuit board. I am not familiar with that brand of saw but others on here have had problems with certain saws and saw dust getting into the switches and controls. Try blowing them out with the saw unplugged of course.
