Default I really need help

I have a Delta 40-540 and lately I've been having a lot of problems. Some of you may have already read some of my threads about me breaking my upper arm on my saw. I got a replacement and when I put it back together, I broke another piece. I now have that piece and have put everything back together and the upper arm doesn't line up with lower arm anymore. It's far enough off that it's pretty obvious to see. I had to put some push pins in with a hammer so I'm not sure if I bent it when I did that. It doesn't look bent though.

I'm so frustrated with this saw. I thought it was supposed to be a decent saw, but I've had nothing but problems. Does anyone else own one and what is your luck with it? Would anyone have any idea how to align the top and bottom arms?

Thanks
Todd

I don't see anything that looks like that. The arm screws in in 2 places. I don't see anything else to it.

Hi Todd. I can't offer any help to ya except a link to the parts breakdown for your saw, which you probably already have anyway, but thought I would post it anyway, just in case..... Good luck!

Todd

Did you mess with the lower arm ? The parts diagram shows bushings on the lower arm but not on the upper arm so maybe one of them is worn down causing your alignment problems?

I didn't do anything with the lower arm. It is still centered in the opening so I'm not sure how much I want to mess with that. What I ended up doing was putting a washer on the back side of the upper arm to push it out more. So far that seems to be working ok. I was able to cut some wood yesterday on it without any problems.
